We offer kids a delightful, engaging way to explore, create, and learn; and arm them with the creative confidence and tools to change the world. Our core offering is a subscription service that delivers hands-on projects to kids of all ages. We also have an online store and a content hub for families. We take great pride and ownership in the products and experiences we design and in the community of parents and kids we serve. This position is located in Lathrop, CA.

Role and Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a self-sufficient and ambitious Operations Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take on a key role within our team that spans from inbound logistics, inventory control functions to fulfillment and order management. We’re looking for a person who is scrappy, well organized, curious and enjoys testing and measuring solutions in a fast paced environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the creation and organization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Standard Working Instructions (SWI) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) documentation based on our Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Provide administrative support, updating, maintaining and monitoring data in appropriate systems to ensure smooth operations and data integrity.

  • Become a Warehouse Management System (WMS) superuser to provide assistance in the training of warehouse associates and to help to identify, flag and resolve issues within the system

  • Assist with SKU creation and maintain warehouse inventory locations in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Provide support in the inventory reconciliation process

  • Create purchase orders for warehouse supplies and provide recommendations and alerts around future purchases

  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

As a start-up celebrating creativity and development, we believe and encourage the same in our team. We seek team players with an infectious positive energy, great initiative, and a get-it-done attitude. Candidates must thrive in ambiguity and love a rapid pace. You must have a strong desire to learn and improve, and be able to grasp new concepts/systems quickly. Required skills and qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience working in one or more of the following: supply chain, operations, inventory management, warehouse data management, or logistics

  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Hands-on, "get things done" mentality. You thrive in a fast paced environment, meet challenging deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous projects

  • Proven ability to  see a project from idea stage through successful completion - and do whatever it takes to make it a success. Hurdles are inevitable, but you take it upon yourself to take ownership, assess options, create solutions and get projects done.

  • You are comfortable working with a variety of systems and basic business tools like Google docs.

  • You have intermediate Excel skills (eg. pivot tables, vlookup formulas, reporting)

  • You have an analytical mindset for understanding why problems happen, and are able to identify issues and find solutions.

  • We move quickly, but we bring care and thoughtfulness to everything we do. You care deeply about the details.

  • Ability to work well within cross-functional teams and a strong sense of ownership.

Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Supply Chain, or Operations related fields
  • WMS/ERM experience is a plus
