Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Video Editor who can quickly “grok” our brand identity, who is highly collaborative as well as efficient, and who can help bring our brand to life through creative and thoughtful editing of a wide range of assets.
In this role, you will:
Design and build essential graphics toolkits for KiwiCo marketing assets, videos, and original series
Establish brand identity and consistency through video and graphic styling
Edit marketing, social media, and editorial assets and videos
Animate KiwiCo illustrations to use across our social channels
Edit short and long-form how-to tutorials for our crate lines
Help establish a language for graphic design and video assets
Assist in file organization and sharing across teams and stakeholders
Ability to shoot is an added bonus

The ideal candidate has great initiative and operating range. Required skills and responsibilities:
Experience. Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of graphic design for video and editing experience. You have excellent storytelling and editing skills, with the experience and skills required to work in a fast-paced video production environment.
Passionate about kids and education. You love our young customers and understand how to communicate enriching educational concepts in a fun and relatable way.
Detail-oriented. Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and logical story construction, with an eye for visual communication.
Communication. Excellent written and visual communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various departments.
Organization. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role, which requires collaborating with the entire product design team, so great organizational skills are a must.
Hands-on, “get things done” mentality. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly. Strong project management skills.
Resourceful and flexible. You see a project from idea stage through successful completion and do whatever it takes to make it a success. You are comfortable with the rapid pace of change in a small, nimble team. You are an innovative thinker and can solve problems creatively.
Collaborative. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization, as well as confidently make presentations to senior management. Able to give and receive feedback well.
Broad operating range. Have the ability to think strategically and create processes and organizational efficiencies, while also having a love of detail and editorial finesse. Thrives in a fast-paced, small company environment.
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with special emphasis in Premiere and After Effects
Experience editing short and long form DIY, tutorial and STEAM videos, specifically relating to kids content
Experience creating graphics and videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms
Experience designing and building essential graphics toolkits for a variety of content types
Experience working collaboratively with video editors, photographers, and producers in a start-up environment
High attention to detail and creative confidence
Passion for teaching and learning
