Editorial Intern

Internships | Mountain View, CA | Full Time

Job Description

About Us

KiwiCo is an innovative eCommerce company that sparks kids’ creativity and curiosity through offline and online materials and inspiration. We offer kids a delightful, engaging way to explore, create, and learn. We take great pride and ownership in the products we build and in the community of parents and kids we serve. Our office is located in Mountain View, CA, but this will be a remote internship.

We’re looking for an intern to help support the editorial team, which is responsible for all instructional and educational materials in our products. In this role, you will work with the editors for each of our crate lines to help build a content database of past publications so we can make these materials accessible and searchable. This will involve:

  • Training on use of our systems and tools, including Airtable, InDesign, Box, and our file system.

  • Finding and converting design files to PDFs and organizing in a file system.

  • Loading and tagging content into a content database.

  • Working with the editorial team to review and QA the data.

Required Qualifications

As a start-up celebrating creativity and development, we believe and encourage the same in our team. We seek team players with an infectious positive energy, great initiative, and a get-it-done attitude. Candidates must thrive in ambiguity and love a rapid pace. You must have a strong desire to learn and improve. A strong work ethic, communication skills, and high levels of empathy are important. You are also:

  • Highly detail-oriented. Accuracy is critical for this role, and you give your work the focus and care it needs to get it right, down to the smallest proofreading corrections.

  • Highly organized. You have the discipline and organizational skills to manage complex tasks and ensure nothing is dropped.

  • Resourceful. You see a project through from start to finish, whatever it takes to make it a success. Hurdles are inevitable, but you take it upon yourself to take ownership, assess options, and get it done.

  • Collaborative. You are comfortable with asking questions, receiving feedback, and working as part of a team.

  • In high school, college, or grad school.

If you’re passionate about delivering innovative, delightful, and enriching products and experiences for kids, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by submitting a resume and cover letter telling us why you're interested in KiwiCo and what you think you'd bring to this specific position and our team.
