Our core offering is a subscription service that delivers hands-on projects to kids of all ages. We also have an online store and a content hub for families. We take great pride and ownership in the products and experiences we design and in the community of parents and kids we serve. Our office is located in Mountain View, within walking distance to the Caltrain station. Our offices are located in Mountain View, CA. Currently, we are working remotely. As guidelines permit, we will move to our plan of hybrid, remote/in-office work.
Role and Responsibilities
KiwiCo is seeking an Editor / Writer to take on the responsibility for creating, editing, and managing instructional and educational content for our hands-on projects for kids, with a focus on parenting, child development, creativity, and learning.
We are looking for an experienced content creator who is passionate about delivering excellent, engaging content for kids and families. You have the ability to manage complex workflows, a deep understanding of how visuals and text come together to make a piece cohesive, and a laser focus on deadlines. In this role, you will:
Lead the creation of excellent editorial pieces (including the collateral that comes in our crates) that support brand values and business goals, working closely and collaboratively with product designers and visual designers.
Define, manage, and write content to support our baby and preschool products.
Move editorial pieces through our production process. Ensure deadlines are met and guidelines and standards are followed.

You must have a strong desire to learn and improve, with excellent organizational and communication skills. Required skills and qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience in content creation. You have excellent writing and editing skills, with the experience required to work in a fast-paced editorial production environment.
A background in early childhood development or equivalent work experience, with experience creating content for kids and families, especially infants and toddlers ages 0–3 and their parents.
A great writer with experience working within a brand style, with the ability to consistently deliver clean, polished copy efficiently.
Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and logical story construction, with an eye for visual communication and photography.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally on creative projects. Able to give and receive feedback well.
Strong project management skills. You are a self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on multiple simultaneous projects.
You are flexible and creative, with the ability to see a project from idea stage through multiple iterations to completion. You are an innovative thinker and can solve problems creatively.
Experience in education, formal or informal.
Experience in an entrepreneurial startup environment.
Experience with children’s consumer products.
