KiwiCo is an innovative eCommerce company that sparks kids’ creativity and curiosity through offline and online materials and inspiration. We offer kids a delightful, engaging way to explore, create, and learn; and arm them with the creative confidence and tools to change the world. Our core offering is a subscription service that delivers hands-on projects to kids of all ages. We also have an online store and a content hub for families. We take great pride and ownership in the products and experiences we design and in the community of parents and kids we serve. Our office is located in Mountain View, within walking distance to the Caltrain station.

Role and Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for an experienced, analytical, and creative Director of Marketing to develop and implement marketing strategies to grow KiwiCo’s new businesses. We’re seeking someone passionate about our brand, analytical, and innovative in their approach to interacting with potential and existing customers.  This role will be critical in growing KiwiCo’s new businesses including our e-commerce store, our international business, and our schools and groups business. The Director of Marketing will report to the head of marketing and partner closely with the business unit leads of each New Initiatives business.  

  • Provide marketing leadership, assume primary responsibility for driving new customer growth and engagement

  • Create strategic marketing plans for our new businesses, lead the marketing strategy for brand positioning and messaging, taking into account value proposition for different customer segments

  • Hands-on implement marketing campaigns and tactics including, but not limited to: PR, email marketing, online advertising (Paid Social, SEO, SEM, display ads), community and grassroots marketing

  • Manage and grow the new business marketing team to define and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy and plan

  • Manage marketing planning for new product launches

  • Define and track key success metrics for marketing programs and tests

  • Research industry marketing trends to keep our strategy up to date


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years related experience.  MBA a plus

  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of developing and implementing marketing strategies

  • Proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data-driven analyses to drive key decision

  • Experience launching new products and enhancements

  • Strong understanding of consumer/children's products or marketing to parents strong plus

  • Ability to collaborate actively and effectively on multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small company environment, willing to get hands dirty

  • Motivated, dynamic, creative, and results-oriented

  • Excellent judgment, strategic thinker, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial

  • Exceptional communication skills
