Role and Responsibilities
As KiwiCo’s Corporate Controller, you are responsible for accounting, tax, payroll, and maintenance of the associated systems, controls and procedures. You will lead a team to support KiwiCo’s operational activity and implement systems and processes to support our growth. Your responsibilities include:
Ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles, procedures, and revenue recognition policies in full compliance with US GAAP.
Own the financial close process and all associated processes and reporting to deliver accurate and timely results to the organization to facilitate critical decision making.
Responsible for monthly financial close including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and timely preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Develop, implement and maintain the internal systems and financial controls consistent with KiwiCo’s policies and regulatory guidelines, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal tax requirements and filings.
Prepare the company for public company accounting and reporting standards (e.g. SEC reporting and SOX compliance).
Lead a team of accounting professionals with responsibilities for the general ledger, tax, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, stock plan administration, and financial reporting.
Manage relationships with auditors and external accounting/tax advisors.
Provide leadership and vision for scaling the team and our financial infrastructure to keep up with the demands of KiwiCo’s high-growth business.
Build relationships and partner with department leaders to understand key issues and business drivers. Provide data and insights to help managers run the company and make effective decisions.
Understand and document reporting needs, collaborate on operational issues, develop creative solutions in the absence of perfect systems, and provide business guidance and insight through financial reporting.
Evaluate opportunities for scale and growth and consider ways to drive efficiency and automation.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills are musts. Required skills and qualifications:
8+ years experience, combination of public accounting and public or private company operating preferred.
A strong technical accounting background, CPA or CMA required.
Proven ability to successfully evaluate, implement, and integrate financial systems and tools; ERP implementation experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate actively and effectively on multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional communication skills. Can create common knowledge and generate buy-in and influence towards recommended decisions at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
Clear understanding and deep appreciation for KiwiCo’s mission in developing young innovators.
Experience with direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, and/or subscription businesses.
Bachelor's Degree required. Concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.
