We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Materials Technician to work in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy to develop, manage and maintain a GMP/Non-GMP warehouse and inventory management system.  Materials Management falls within the Manufacturing Operations Department. The Materials Management Department effectively and efficiently directs materials management functions to ensure manufacturing operations and quality goals are met.  The Materials Technician will report to the Senior Manager of Materials Management.  In this role you will assist Materials Management personnel to support manufacturing operations, product shipping, and component receiving to ensure inventory accuracy and timely supply of materials to manufacturing production rooms to meet demands. 

 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Plan, oversee, and participate in the materials management operations and activities to support Production operations team and other internal customers
  • Manage the day-to-day assignments of warehouse job tasks and monitor completion of required activities
  • Receive incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures
  • Dispense and kit GMP materials to support production operations
  • Prepare and deliver raw materials, samples, finished product, etc. to various departments as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range are followed
  • Maintain accurate inventory of GMP warehouse materials
  • Performing inventory cycle counts
  • Perform accurate ERP transactions
  • Monitor Kanban area to ensure optimum replenishment of materials
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies to warehouse operations team and escalate when appropriate 
  • Cross-train in all areas of the warehouse operations
  • Pick, Pack, and Ship finished product, materials, and equipment as required per established policies and procedures
  • Ensure department supplies are inventoried and ordered to avoid stock-out
  • Assist with Risk Assessments (5 why’s, Fish bone Diagrams)
  • Ability to create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) relevant to department processes
  • Ensure individual employee training is up to date
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and GMP’s requirements at all times
  • Kitting of GMP materials
  • Keep warehouse operation clean and inspection ready at all times
  • Work in clean room environment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and some college or vocational training in science, engineering or facilities preferred
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical facility Must be able to operate equipment such as a forklift and an electric pallet jack and drive a truck between sites (CDL not required)
  • Clean driving record required
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 100 lb. of equipment or supplies
  • Must be able to squat, bend, kneel, climb, and/or reach for 75% of the day
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and/or move about for 75% of the day
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed including occasional weekend coverage
  • On call rotation required
  • Previous experience in Logistics, Distribution and Supply Chain preferred
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations in a GMP as well as a non-GMP setting
  • Cold chain knowledge and experience in a pharmaceutical or medical setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
