Quality Support Specialist

Administrative | Gastonia, NC | Full Time

Job Description

Summary of Position

The Quality Support Specialist will provide clinical, informatics, and administrative support to the Quality Manager. S/he will support quality improvement and regulatory efforts for the organization. S/he will be proficient in the use of the EPIC EHR system and will be able to gather and synthesize information about internal population health management efforts to give appropriate feedback to clinical staff and key stakeholders. This person will engage in staff education to promote adherence to clinical best practice. Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, this role will manage submission and reporting efforts for regulatory programs as well as support committee meetings through the preparation of presentations and other supporting documents.      

Education: Bachelors of Applied Science in Health Care or other related field(s) or equivalent experience

Experience Required: 5 year related work experience preferred

Professional Licensure: None, RN preferred

Certification(s): None


Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage Regulatory Programs and Reporting efforts for the Organization.

  2. Manage internal quality improvement activities.

  3. Facilitate the PCMH Preparedness meeting activities.

  4. Engage in staff education to promote adherence to clinical best practice and quality improvement.

  5. Analyze information in EMR to support documentation and reporting for regulatory programs and quality improvement initiatives.

  6. Generate periodic reports from EMR software to support organizational clinical and quality reporting obligations

  7. Remain abreast of regulatory program initiatives and changes

  8. Participate in internal QI initiatives by providing clinic sites with needed support in Lean Six Sigma processes

  9. Support patient inquiries received from the patient portal.

  10. Other duties as assigned
