Covid Testing Assistant
Mobile Testing | Statesville, NC | Full Time and Part Time
*This position is for our Iredell County and Catawba County Testing Unit*
Summary of Position: Clinical Staff working in the COVID Testing units collect specimens (e.g. – Nasopharyngeal swab) from asymptomatic and symptomatic people in an effort to confirm or rule-out the COVID 19 virus. The swab units assist in fulfilling the testing recommendations of COVID 19 for patients coming to Kintegra Health for treatment as well those in the community, including long term care facility residents/employees, who may have symptoms of COVID 19 or require testing to rule-out exposure to help facilitate quarantine efforts as indicated based on results. Clinical Staff work in a team environment and rotate between various skills including ordering testing in EPIC/Lab Corp under the direction of the care provider, collecting specimen and labeling, patient education, supply ordering, educating employees of long term care facility on proper swabbing procedure, and critically thinking and assessing patients who may present ill.
Education: High School Diploma or GED;
Experience: 1 year of related work preferred or OJT for ≥2 years
Certification(s)/Licensure: CMA, AAMA, RMA LPN or currently listed as CNA (I or II) with NC Nurse Aide Registry and are subject to occupational licensing laws.
Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned and within the MA scope of practice.
Verify patient information such as, but not limited to demographics, insurance, vitals and medications; complete intake process including verifying and entering patient data into EHR/EPM.
Perform duties such as greeting and assisting patients in a courteous and professional manner, answer telephone and provide information as necessary, verify patient information, etc.
Collect, perform, document, and report results
