POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a multi-skilled eCommerce Technical Solutions Architect/Engineer to hold a central position on our Digital team and deliver the best digital experience for our customers. This individual will be responsible for all solution-level decisions and analysis of their impact towards our overall business goals.  Partner selections, influencing make/buy decisions, performance goals/kpi’s, and technical compliance that looks to customer engagement and data as the central focus of the architecture.  This high performing individual should be results focused with an ability to work collaboratively across domains and software disciplines. This is a hands-on position that requires research, analysis, design, proposal, and delivery of solutions per our business and technology strategy. This role will provide technical leadership and facilitate adoption of technical solutions, platforms, strategy and design pattern across multiple teams and stakeholders.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the lines, not just the boxes, ensuring an architectural solution that is viable and fit for scale.
  • Provide eCommerce expertise and drive strategic thinking around platform architecture, design best-practices, partner integrations, and eco-system evolution.
  • Engage as a subject matter expert with business users and delivery team being able to provide insight and best-practice recommendations
  • Work with product teams to translate strategic requirements into deliverable tasks.
  • Focus on innovative solutions, new trends, and advances in the space.
  • Research and make recommendations on product solutions, integrations, and partner recommendations via fit gap analysis process.
  • Architect overall technical solution for enterprise level e-commerce applications; document the details and engage with team of product managers and developers to build, implement, maintain, and improve the solution.
  • Constantly analyze for risk and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor, trap, analyze and resolve any complex issues relating to total architecture without impacting customers.
  • Create, communicate, and maintain best practices and coding standards for team in coordination with Dev agencies and internal team.
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership throughout the project life cycle. Provide guidance in designing, user interface, technology integration, and interfacing with the client technology and management teams.
  • Collaborate with external architects (partners, agencies) on their respective roadmaps to update reference diagrams, architectures, and other development processes documents as needed
  • Drive end-to-end success of the project by working closely with cross functional teams


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be seasoned Shopify engineer who likes talking to people and creating innovative solutions
  • Technical subject matter expert with 8-10 years’ experience architecting, developing, and implementing enterprise-wide eCommerce and associated analytics solutions excellent understanding of current ecommerce technology trends, architecture & frameworks.
  • 2-3 years of experience leading teams/people
  • 5+ years’ experience with Shopify+ and Shopify+ ecosystem architecture/design, development, deployment, and transition to support as well as Shopify APIs, and Liquid template language
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
  • Experience working with/for hybrid agency model of development
  • Code reviews, continuous integration, and test-driven development
  • Experience in Java / J2EE architecture and UI/UX web development including Liquid, SOAP, REST, XML, JavaScript, HTML, etc.,
  • Hands-on experience for payment gateway integration with Commerce product for different payment types like credit card, Cash Apps, Alt Payment Methods etc.
  • Experience in Integration/Interfaces with Middleware, SOA Web Services with SOAP and REST
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (Version Control, build tools, GIT).
  • Experience with accelerating business growth by combining multi-channel commerce, multi-channel marketing, Social Commerce, etc.,
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Conducts technology benchmarking and industry analysis to define the strategic direction.
  • Experience with backend system integration with CRM and CDP platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
