We are seeking a Sr. Finance Manager to join our team to serve as a product margin and innovation finance forecasting lead. This high visibility, individual contributor role will provide financial analyses and counseling to drive profitable growth on product development projects and will be responsible for generating monthly product margin forecasts. The Sr. Finance Manager will work with cross-functional business partners and the leadership team to develop and meet both short and long-term business objectives. This position will require a broad range of finance experience including influencing senior leaders, business planning and analysis, financial modeling, operational finance, financial reporting, product costing, accounting, and business systems. This role will report to the Finance Director of Revenue and Margin.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure proper inputs are informing the rolling product margin forecast. Serve as the finance lead to ensure accurate pricing, COGS, and margin assumptions are flowing through reporting and planning processes and systems.
Support the development of innovation product and project launches from a finance lens. Establish margin and profit targets, run scenarios for optimal cost and pricing strategies, and translate the financial impact of varying assumptions to a broad cross-functional team.
Foster fact-based decision making by utilizing knowledge of the current business environment and specialist financial knowledge; challenging the status quo. Report, analyze, and translate data into key insights that drive decision making at the leadership level. Participate and provide finance representation in regular cross-functional meetings. Champion efforts to improve innovation and product margin financial forecast accuracy during annual planning cycles.
Proactively address continuous improvement opportunities by taking initiative and recommending solutions. Partner with cross-functional teams on current processes that have a direct impact on product margin and innovation financial results. Lead initiatives to establish and optimize day-to-day processes and procedures. Create and distribute regular reports.
Work on additional adhoc analyses and projects as necessary.
College degree required; BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent preferred
5-7+ years of experience in Finance; experience in Consumer Goods company/industry preferred
Advanced knowledge of financial and analytical concepts, practices, and procedures in Wholesale, Retail, and Ecommerce environment is preferred
Previous financial experience in product development and/or managing brand P&Ls a plus
Experience within a matrix organization preferred
The successful individual will be a self-starter with superior interpersonal skills, the ability to learn quickly, a have a high level of agility to deliver high performance across projects and responsibilities
Strong analytical skills (quantitative as well as qualitative) including building models, data mining and root cause analysis
Scenario planning/analytical skills for base & product development preferred
Intermediate/Sophisticated in Excel
Must work well in a fast paced, team-oriented, dynamic and matrix environment.
