At Kendo, we prize Storytelling. In this role as Sr. Copywriter, Digital, you’ll take Kendo’s digital content storytelling to the next level across all seven of our award-winning beauty brands. You’ll manage a new, dedicated team of digital copywriters to leverage and optimize brand & campaign content in order to drive the business across all digital channels.

As the leader of this team, you’ll set the tone for excellence. You have expertise in creating best-in-class digital experiences throughout the client journey—from paid search and paid social, to the website, product page and email. You embrace data and help the team make decisions based on KPI’s. As a writer, you’re a chameleon—you can effortlessly flex between brand voices when needed. You’re also a skilled collaborator—building bridges and leading a spirit of teamwork with the digital business holders, the digital creatives, the brand & campaign copywriters, and other key stakeholders. And of course, you have in-depth knowledge of and a passion for the beauty industry.

The Sr. Copywriter, Digital, reports to the Sr. Director of Copy.

You will:

  • Manage a team of 4 digital copywriters dedicated to Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, KVD Beauty, Marc Jacobs Beauty, OleHenriksen, Bite Beauty, and Lip Lab
  • Enforce brand voice and Kendo style guide across all brands
  • Review and approve all digital copywriting content, including website updates, product pages (for Kendo brands’ sites and other retailers, such as Sephora.com), email, paid social, blog posts and other SEO-related content
  • Write across all brands, as needed
  • Attend weekly digital kickoffs and creative reviews across all brands, ensuring that the team understands deliverables, scope of work, and deadlines
  • Lead copy on digital projects related to new business development
  • Implement learnings from testing and other metrics and apply them to new campaigns
  • Educate and coach team members on paid social, paid search, SEO best practices, A/B testing and other metrics


Requirements:

  • College degree; BA preferred
  • 7 years copywriting experience
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience with SEO and knowledge of search keyword tools
  • Fluency in paid social advertising across social media platforms
  • Experience implementing and optimizing copy for paid search
  • Experience with A/B testing across digital channels
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ease and polish in presenting in a variety of settings: small/large groups, managers, formal presentations
  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented; time management skills, ability to juggle priorities
  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
  • Understanding of current fashion and beauty trends
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and meet very tight deadlines
  • The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated
  • Understanding of current fashion and beauty trends
  • Beauty experience preferred
