POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Brand Management, North America leads and drives the business in partnership with the Sr. Director, Brand Management, Global.  This critical role serves as the brand liaison for both internal and external business partners.  North America channels currently include: Sephora (US, Canada, Mexico), and Sephora inside JCPenney.  Brand Managers are responsible for overseeing all day to day aspects of the business, including:  business management responsibilities, sales analysis and financial planning, building and executing merchandising and marketing plans to ensure alignment with the Global Strategy. Driving communication and providing key analytics and business insights are essential to deliver and exceed the financial goals of the department. This position also requires excellence in market research and product strategy development. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Strategy and Management

  • Align with Sr. Director on short and long-term strategies for each North America channel to meet and exceed brand and company objectives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to successfully lead the execution of plans
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with North America channels (Sephora, & SiJCP)
  • Build strong and effective relationships with internal teams including Marketing, Inventory Planning, Education, Creative, Product Development, Visual Merchandising, and Operations
  • Continue to improve internal processes to maximize communication with Brand Founder and Kendo Leadership Teams

Sales and Inventory

  • Build newness calendar and product launch strategy to ensure sales plan are exceeded
  • Lead the process to develop inventory planning forecasts supporting launches; adjust forecasts as needed based on sales results in order to achieve business goals with merchants and internal Inventory team
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on key initiatives performance and ad-hoc reporting/analysis as required
  • Build and manage seasonal promotional calendars to utilize as roadmap for new launch distortion plans by channel
  • Create and Manage well-articulated sales recaps for executive meetings
  • Lead and manage quarterly field reporting, identifying and communicating key successes and areas of opportunity

Merchandising & Assortment Strategy

  • Develop and manage North America assortments, oversee all launches from concept to delivery within Brand Strategy
  • Oversee the execution of seasonal merchandising updates from creative brief to in-store execution in partnership with Creative and Visual Merchandising team to ensure fixture and planogram process reflects the brand, while optimizing product presentation
  • Lead and develop promotional or limited edition business opportunities

Marketing

  • Partner with Marketing team to build Brand Marketing Strategy for all North America channels, with an emphasis on Social + Digital
  • Build brand activation plan in partnership with Channels and Marketing team to maximize sales and ensure strong share of voice for brand
  • Lead and manage sampling strategy, including budget management

Education and Events

  • Lead entire process from concept to execution on key Sephora Education Initiatives including sales conferences and content development
  • Build and manage all brand presentation materials for internal and external Education meetings and events
  • Partner with Education teams to build and execute appropriate brand training materials including:  product sell sheets, videos, gratis programs, branded collateral, etc
  • Ensure appropriate brand priorities are communicated to Field team in weekly “What’s Hot” updates

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred.  7+ years of related business experience, Beauty or Retail industry preferred
  • Passion for skincare/ beauty industry
  • Must demonstrate strong strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and clear and effective communication skills
