POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced National Field Sales Manager to contribute to our company’s sales objectives.

 

This strategic position is responsible for all aspects of driving retail sales performance through the management and development of the field sales team in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The National Field Sales Manager will work to develop and grow the KENDO business through a thorough knowledge of sales processes and use of creative thinking to provide innovative ideas to support key strategies for all brands within the KENDO portfolio. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position. This position will leverage exceptional market knowledge and build strong relationships with Store management to maintain excellent client service with key retail partners.

 

The management, coaching and development of the Field sales team and by extension the retail artistry teams within their regional territory, ensuring that their team is continually educated and skilled on all core collections, new product launches, store promotions and event initiatives.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

DRIVING SALES:

  • Responsible for driving sales performance in the UK and ROI territory
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to lead nationwide sales team to exceed national sales goals by brand
  • Understand opportunities within territory and strategise with Director of Sales & Education to develop business plans for stores to achieve forecasted potential
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements and opportunities to develop 
  • Door by door brand focus to identify successes and opportunities for growth
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key retailer personnel
  • Understand the retailer and KENDO launch and activation calendar to effectively drive business through sustained eventing programmes and monitoring sales performance against set metrics
  • Leading field team by example, modelling effective behaviors and techniques to coach and develop.
  • Identify potential inventory issues and oversee visual merchandising standards through regular market tours

RECRUITMENT AND SERVICE STANDARDS:

  • Hire best in class sales team by promoting a culture of personal and professional development
  • Collaborate with Education partner to develop a programme of  in-store trainings focused on high touch service and selling skills
  • Oversee management of retail teams to support KENDO brand portfolio, products and service standards
  • Oversee management of retail team FTE budget and productivity
  • Oversee management of retail temp staffing budget
  • Through partnership field sales team and education partners implement quarterly area-specific cluster meetings and store-level events to maximize brand awareness and product exposure in-stores
  • Ensuring direct follow up instore of all education protocols and KPI’s

MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS:

Kendo Retail Teams and Internal KENDO Partners

  • Consistently shares best practices with Retail Artists/Counter Managers and Field Sales Team to ensure business practices and portfolio brand integrity are upheld
  • Identify and communicate team needs and potential issues to appropriate KENDO management team partners
  • An advocate for the Field Sales Team they will develop creative solutions while sharing Field and Store voice
  • Provide excellent and courteous customer service to all partners in and out of KENDO
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with all levels of Store Leadership

Team Development

  • Coach and develop direct reports to foster a culture personal and professional development, identifying talent and capability and leveraging in market
  • Maximize team selling effectiveness and potential to succeed through consistent in-market visits by Field Sales Team, 1-1 engagement leading by example and consistent recognition and feedback
  • Collaborate with peers to develop best practices and drive team performance

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Present and reinforce a professional appearance and maintain the Company's appearance and dress code standards at all times, frequently changing makeup styles to reflect current trends and key focuses
  • Work within Company expense budgets, following established guidelines and procedures
  • Additional duties may be required, depending on skill set, market trends, and business needs
  • Ability to travel 60-80% of the time
  • Management of T&E budget for the Field and Retail sales teams
  • Timely submission of commission and T/A to payroll

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience at a National Sales Manager level essential
  • Experience in and passion for the premium beauty arena preferable
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Exceptional communication skills (presentation/verbal/written)
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, creative thinker
  • Proven Leader with flexibility and ability to function in an agile, fast paced environment
  • Must have proof of current and valid driver’s license
