The Manager, Product Development - Fenty Beauty will be responsible for managing and driving the day-to-day color development process from concept to launch.  The position will be responsible for product ideation, supplier communication, project and timeline management, presenting to management, and management of relationships with cross-functional partners in packaging development, project management, sourcing, regulatory, quality assurance, and brand management.



  • Manage all phases of development of new product and innovation in the color category
  • Expertise in color evaluation across color categories
  • Research and understand market and ingredient trends to ensure projects in the pipeline meet the needs of the marketplace; identify new trends in product format, ingredients, delivery systems and technology
  • Lead internal communication with cross-functional partners as it relates to product briefs, formula evaluation, internal product testing, copy and claims, artwork and regulatory deliverables
  • Monitor and maintain on-time delivery of critical project milestones
  • Manage daily communication with external partners
  • Evaluate formula submissions with team and management
  • Review all batch submissions as needed, including on-site approvals whenever necessary
  • Maintain key relationships with contract manufacturers. Conduct onsite development when necessary
  • Responsible for lab briefs and communication with labs/chemists
  • Successfully work with the compliance department on regulatory and testing protocols
  • Coordinate all testing protocols with vendor to include protocols, usage instructions, questionnaires
  • Coordinate all bulk and samples for all testing (consumer in use/claims, Safety/RIPT, water activity, etc.) and coordinate final claims with Regulatory, Brand Management and copy teams
  • Liaise with QA/QC on shade and formula standards and range boards and production pieces
  • Responsible for researching new ingredients, textures, products and packaging to allow for greater innovation



  • College degree with 5+ years relevant work experience in color cosmetics/complexion product development
  • Experience and strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers
  • Passionate about color cosmetics and the beauty industry
  • Domestic and international travel is required – approximately 4-6 trips per year
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects through strong prioritization and planning
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing collaborative environment
  • Is a self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
