POSITION SUMMARY  

Manage all procurement activities for Kendo product lines. Develops and implements procurement strategies to promote quick turn, low cost, on time schedules to maintain inventory at planned level. Build and leverage strong relationships with demand planning, production team and external vendors to deliver on time and quality inventory. Mentor and coach a group of procurement specialists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies to support different production model; turn-key, non-turn key
  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies to support different business need; regular replenishment, chase, rework and any ad-hoc needs
  • Work closely with Demand Planning team to ensure orders are placed in time to maintain healthy inventory level
  • Work closely with Production team to ensure balance loading of vendors through close monitoring of forecast and new product development
  • Work closely with Vendors to pre-emptively exercise strategy to support change in supply situation or global supply chain movement
  • Negotiate as necessary cost reduction based on volume trending, seeks cost improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for self and team to deliver :
    • On time order placement to maintain planned level inventory
    • Effective order placement to optimize cost opportunities
    • Manage non turnkey procurement, ensuring parts/components are delivered on time for completion of production
    • Manage and reconcile monthly vendors’ parts/components inventory with finance team
    • Good handle on all open order status
    • Resolve and investigate purchasing and receipt discrepancies amongst finance and/or distribution centers
  • Deliver team and department dashboard reporting
  • Mentor and coach direct reports. Aimed to build bench strength in the organization

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of procurement experience
  • 3+ years of strong team management and team development experience is required
  • Experience working with vendors in both a turnkey and non-turnkey environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with good attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment
  • Ability to work well with cross functional teams
  • Good written and oral communication skills complemented with highly effective presentation, interpersonal and consulting skills in working across all aspects of the business, levels of the organizations and outside contacts
  • Experience working with Dynamic AX is a plus
