Education Manager - Sephora

The Education Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of education programs that bring the unique brand DNA, storytelling and product passion for KENDO Brands to life at Sephora (US, Canada, Mexico) and SiJCP. This role will lead training strategy for a wide range of in-store and event activations by analyzing business needs, identifying areas of growth opportunity and providing project management for key education initiatives (SBES, SDCA, Artistry Lab, Sephora Canada’s Colour & Skincare Encore, New Store Opening Trainings, Brand Focus Days, Sephora Animation & Hot Now-focused store events, cluster trainings, etc), in partnership with internal cross-functional teams (Education Content, Global Events, Brand Management, and Marketing) and Sephora and SiJCP Education partners. This role will also direct education programs for KENDO’s North America Field Team, developing high-touch communication platforms, planning impactful bi-annual Sales & Education Conferences and overseeing logistics for gratis and comp distribution. 





Brand Education at Sephora & SiJCP

  • Identify unique education opportunities within Sephora and SiJCP strategic initiatives that KENDO Brands can support with trainings, education content and gratis (cluster trainings, Sr. Artist certification, Bite Lip Lab events, etc)
  • Develop yearly education calendar of training programs and initiatives that motivate and inspire cast, are results-driven, provide engaging brand experiences and provide data-rich, measurable impact
  • Analyze existing brand education programs and determine the needs to keep training initiatives and events current and innovative, helping to guide the future of the education programs
  • Partner closely with the Global Events team to drive planning, logistics and execution of all elevated Sephora and SiJCP elevated training opportunities (Artistry Lab, CAN Encore, TTT, NSO’s)
  • Drive monthly meeting agenda and recaps with retailer education teams, develop education plans that drive successful new product launches and evergreen programs to build growth in core skus; secure maximum exposure and specialized training opportunities for KENDO Brands


Education Brand Management & Cross-functional Partnerships

  • Lead bi-weekly education meetings with Brand Management teams to drive brand and product strategies at Sephora and SiJCP B&M, and with KENDO’s North America Field Team; includes managing the agenda, leading the meeting, and actionable recaps
  • Strategize and drive 360° gratis programs for Sephora, SiJCP and KENDO’s Field Team for in-store and event programs, from internal alignment, budget tracking, vendor management, planning, communication and final delivery to stores
  • Prepare monthly education recaps for each KENDO Brand Management team to highlight all the education levers and activations from the month prior
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of Sephora Elevated Expert outreach programs (internal influencers) to support key launches and drive core skus across North America
  • Partner with Brand Management teams to understand seasonal and annual brand priorities to share with retail partners and KENDO’s Field Team


Departmental Support

  • Build bi-annual store training calendar based on brand priorities and business needs
  • Create inventory and replenishment process for education product inventory, newness comps and ongoing product distribution to internal and external partners
  • Thought-partner for various cross-functional KENDO teams (Global Education, Content Development, Brand Management, Marketing, Digital/Social Media) for conceptualization and development of training tools and brand experiences to support and accelerate key launches, event and training kits, digital training tools and launch support materials
  • Flexibility to take on new responsibilities based on the needs of department and KENDO portfolio
  • Support North America and International education initiatives as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Experience with, and full understanding of, the Sephora concept is required
  • Superior writing, editing, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate creative and active problem solving ability to drive on time and quality delivery for all projects
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment
  • Excellent project management skills, including proven ability to manage projects and partner with various levels in the organization
  • High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills— Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Publisher, InDesign
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
