POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. The Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.  The Accounting Manager's responsibilities include performing a variety of accounting activities including month-end closing tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, interfacing auditors, preparation and review of audit schedules and various analysis. This position is also responsible for research and resolution of unusual transactions and special accounting projects as assigned This position will interface with other departments to resolve accounting issues and drive cross-departmental process improvements.  

This position is a supervisory position and will have responsibilities to oversee staff.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager and management team in the timely production of monthly financial statements and analysis schedules for internal reporting.
  • Participate in month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries
  • Prepare/review monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure appropriate resolution of reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in year-end financial audit conducted by outside auditors.
  • Proactively pursue business issues impacting the general ledger for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Understand, develop, and enforce proper accounting practices and controls
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Serve as a resource to other departments as needed
  • Tracking KPIs and preparing various financial reports and analysis as requested
  • Identify opportunities and lead the implementation of changes to drive improvements
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups and monitor business activities to ensure timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters and recommend practical solutions
  • Supervise and mentor staff
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years or more experience in accounting
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA a plus
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure
  • Experience with ERP system, experience in Dynamics 365 a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Consumer products or manufacturing industry experience a plus but not required
