Job Description

The Lorenzo Global Macro Fund, L.P.  is seeking a Ph.D level researcher to join our growing team in North Scottsdale.

The Role

This investment research team develops and implements independent investment research using systems.  Specifically, you will use Python and R to develop investment algorithms in a variety of asset classes.  The selected candidate will work closely with the company founder and will have the opportunity to advance to a full-time, permanent position.

About You

This role requires a Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, computer science or other highly technical field.  In certain select cases, we may consider candidates that are currently enrolled in a Ph.D program provided you are able to work onsite this summer at our offices in Scottsdale, Arizona.  No exceptions.  This is NOT a remote position.

You must be extremely comfortable with large datasets and tools such as MATLAB, R and Python.  In addition to extremely strong technical skills, you will need exceptional research skills, written communication skills and oral communications skills.  In short, you should be able to research, read and interpret academic and professional research and convert that information into an actionable hypothesis.  You will be required to present your hypotheses and take them through to a testable conclusion.
