Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are a boutique CPA firm seeking a full-time full charge bookkeeper who embodies our mantra both in spirit and in production.  The ideal candidate understands that a positive result should not be gained at the expense of a quality process.

With those values in mind, we serve clients primarily in the restaurant/hospitality, entertainment and dental industries.  In addition to commodity services such as accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial compilations, and tax returns, our greatest passion is in advisory services.  We love helping clients run their businesses and/or their lives more efficiently and ideally, more happily!

To that end and to meet the needs of our growing company, our ideal candidate is an intellectually curious, ambitious, hard-working, work-efficient applicant with strong bookkeeping skills.  The candidate must have an accounting degree (accredited collegiate accounting certificate or Bachelors in Accounting).  3+ years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper is preferred, but we will consider less experience for an otherwise stellar candidate.

While the interaction with company CPAs will be instrumental to tailor the candidate's skill set to firm needs, the position ultimately requires autonomy and proficiency and that the candidate is or quickly becomes a "subject matter expert" (SME) for the position.  For the right candidate, this is not simply a job but an opportunity to contribute to and have a real impact on our growing company and on our clients.  CPA candidates are also welcome to apply!

We use Bill.com, Excel, Word, Outlook, Quickbooks and Thomson Reuters accounting software so experience with these software packages is preferred but not required.  If you're the right candidate, you can learn quickly and learn well!

Day-to-day responsibilities may include the following:

  • Accounts payable management (invoice entry, vendor statement review)
  • Bookkeeping duties (data entry, sales tax payments, bank reconciliation, journal entry preparation, financial statement preparation)
  • Office management (light administrative tasks)
  • Knowledge transfer and skill development (working with company president to improve workflow efficiencies and self-development to acquire additional skills through research/ongoing training for advancement)

The position requires approximately 35 hours/week (flexible hours), though additional hours may be required based on work volume.  Salary range is $54,000- $59,000 but will consider a higher salary for a more seasoned candidate with all of the core qualifications we are seeking.  Additionally, we are offering a substantial, monthly health insurance reimbursement plan and a vacation plan.
