Job Summary:

The Janrain Technical  Support Engineer position requires a broad skill set in modern development technologies.  From conventional web development (Javascript, Python, CSS, HTML), and mobile (Android, iOS, Web) to APIs - this position requires a willingness and desire to learn and adapt to new technology. The ideal candidate will have real world development experience in the above technologies and an enthusiasm for helping technically savvy customers to overcome complex challenges.  Candidates should be able to produce reference sites and code to demonstrate past experience and project depth.  Strong customer interaction and communication skills with the ability to diplomatically address a broad range of customers from either business or development focused teams are also strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Expected to meet ticket productivity and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of Janrain's products and platforms.

  • Deliver and improve post­-deployment technical documentation and training as requested by customers.

  • Assist customers with troubleshooting their development and integration efforts.

  • In a customer development environment, monitor load and performance testing using Kibana and logs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science; will consider 5 to 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5+ years of technical experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on programming experience with web and digital technologies.

  • Ability to solve complex integration and product questions/issues.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner.

  • Project management experience a plus.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs.

  • Experience with HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

  • Experience troubleshooting web applications using standard development tools.

  • Experience working directly with customers.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and perform under pressure.

  • High level of energy, efficiency, and flexibility.

  • Analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Expertise in Janrain’s core products.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven experience in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.
