We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our team and to further increase our growth velocity.

The Software Engineering Manager role at Janrain is responsible for leading the design, development, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting of new and existing enterprise SaaS products. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years’ industry experience managing Software Development teams in an Agile environment.


  • Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and challenge people to outdo themselves

  • Mentor and provide career advice to direct reports and to others within your organization

  • Manage local, remote, and partner resources across multiple projects

  • Confer with Management, Product, Architecture, and Stakeholders to discuss project requirements and develop detailed plans to accomplish goals

  • Ensure consistency of Software Development Lifecycle practices

  • Guide the development teams on implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the platform

  • Handle interrupts and escalations from within the organization

  • Attend daily stand ups and facilitate the removal of any impediments while managing risks

  • Periodically guide development teams through continuous improvement activities

  • Communicate any slips to schedule to Product Management and Stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Agile software methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban

  • Previous experience as a collaborative leader

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

  • Project Management experience and the ability to apply them to software development

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bonus Points:

  • SaaS experience

  • Experience managing interrupt-driven work

  • Experience managing high performing self-organized teams

  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
