Within the Janrain Demand Generation team, the  Marketing Manager is responsible for driving lead generation and sales opportunities into the pipeline via marketing campaigns and activities geared to new and existing customers.  This role combines many of the functions of field marketing, customer marketing, campaign and event management into one senior-level position with the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.  The Marketing Manager will be a key point of contact within the marketing team for our Sales and Customer Success organizations. You will also provide cross-functional leadership and serve as a trusted advisor for customer stories, best practices, and customer advocacy. You will be expected to  build trust and credibility with the sales team quickly and maintain a strong bias toward action and execution, while collaborating and maintaining alignment with the rest of the marketing team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Event management  - Manage marketing activities such as: customer/industry/analyst events, self-hosted and third-party webinars, sponsored and syndicated content, user groups, and advisory board sessions.

    • Conduct targeted event and program research, develop annual and individual event and program strategies.

    • Manage logistics, speaker engagements and presentation decks, thought leadership topic development, attendee invitation, registration management, and onsite execution.

    • Manage vendor relationships and global event marketing budget in concert with the marketing department budget.

    • Integrate these events into broader marketing themes and campaigns to nurture buyers through their journey, resulting in more event leads converting to opportunities.


  • Work with Sales and the Janrain Marketing team to develop and execute new multi-stage integrated marketing campaigns to target specific accounts, vertical markets, buyer personas and / or themes that will move prospects through the buyer’s journey, resulting in revenue opportunities.

    • Align corporate messaging and positioning with account, vertical and buyer-specific needs to create targeted collateral and campaigns.

    • Lead the design and manage the content for Identity by Industry web pages.

    • Forecast and report on campaign performance to determine the best approach for lead generation activities.

  • Take the lead role in working with sales and customer success to improve our marketing to existing customers. Explore and recommend new marketing initiatives to improve our retention rate and expand our revenues - from customer journey decks, to revised email communications, to customer events.

  • Contribute to the group’s overall success by:

    • Partnering closely with our digital marketing manager to create effective campaigns and achieve demand generation goals.

    • Collaborating with product marketing and marketing communications on product launches and announcements.

    • Contributing to key marketing initiatives such as account-based marketing and the website redesign.

    • Pitching in to provide coverage, fill gaps and take on additional responsibilities as needed.


  • Skilled field / customer / events marketing professional.

  • Three+ years overall Marketing experience with a minimum of two years B2B marketing experience.

  • Expert in managing trade shows, field marketing events and customer conferences.

  • Track record of success managing and marketing in-house webinar program.

  • Proven ability to craft integrated marketing campaigns that generate demand.

  • Adept at creating compelling customer presentations, email campaigns, landing pages and web content to generate leads and enable sales.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with field sales / customer service and create marketing programs that drive revenue.

  • Basic competence in broad range of marketing tools including webinar tools, marketing automation, CMS, CRM. Experience with Marketo and SalesForce a plus.

  • Experience with account-based marketing a plus.

  • BS / MS in Marketing or a related field or equivalent education and/or experience required.
