Jana is the largest provider of free internet in emerging markets. Through Jana’s mCent Browser, the next billion smartphone users are coming online without incurring data charges. Jana makes all mobile content freely accessible and discoverable through technology integrated into the billing systems of 311 mobile operators and available to 4.56 billion mobile subscribers. Today, Jana has provided over 40 million emerging market users with free, ad-sponsored internet access.

Role

Jana’s growth team works with designers, marketing strategists, and in-market growth hackers to build our audience across the globe.  We’re looking for a seasoned product manager to join us and build the in-product growth channels, user on-boarding, and fraud protections that will enable us to grow within our existing markets as well as continue expanding mCent Browser to new countries around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, sales, design,  and data analytics to ideate, develop, and launch new user-facing features and internal tools

  • Use qualitative insights (including research trips to our markets) and data analysis to identify new in-product growth features and enhance the user onboarding process

  • Participate in shaping Jana’s long-term growth and market expansion strategy

  • Determine and prioritize technical and data reporting requirements for integration with partners / internal systems and internal tools

  • Develop tools and strategies to combat user acquisition fraud

 

Required Experience:

  • 3-5+ years product management experience, prior consumer mobile app required

  • Knowledge of app install attribution partner (e.g., Tune, Appsflyer) integrations and management

  • Strong eye for UX and ability to empathize with users across varying geographies and cultures

  • Ability to balance intuition and insights by quickly developing hypothesis and then executing analyses to drive direction

  • Ability to travel to emerging markets for 1-2 weeks per quarter
     

Useful Experience:

  • Understanding of mobile app user acquisition including Facebook, OEM, and other B2C growth marketing channels (including offline campaigns)

  • Working knowledge of the tenets of response marketing

  • Experience with user referral programs
