Product Manager

Job Description

SGN is on the hunt for the best and brightest Product Manager in Los Angeles.  This position will take ownership on implementation and growth of DSP/Real Time Bidding technology. We’re looking for someone who can bring vision, product and UI development experience to the table.

The Product Manager will drive the development/improvement of our bidder, ad server, and decision engine and implementation of its major components. You will identify various use cases for how data is obtained, processed, and used for decision-making and translate them into the requirements and design for the components of the bidder technology. You will interface with the BI team to understand algorithms used for data mining and machine learning; you will work day-to-day with head of marketing, software engineering and data engineering teams to design features and components that will enable the system to work and scale.  You will then drive from spec to implementation and future iteration.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with marketing, software engineering and data engineering teams to implement major features and components

  • Implement agile development process and project management methodologies

  • Manage tactical development queue and develop specification as needed

  • Design a product (framework, guidelines, tools) that integrates our bidder and data environment with third-party data providers

  • Work on the implementation of the experiments allowing measurement and optimization of campaign performance

  • Work on the UI design of campaign creation and and visualization of the reports and tools

  • Transition product knowledge to marketing and sales teams to ensure a successful launch and support of new features.

  • Write specification together with Product Team and engineers for dev implementation


Specifically, we're looking for someone with:

Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years in product management.

  • 1+ years in digital advertising-oriented businesses.

  • BS or BA required; MBA, MS or other advanced degree desirable.

  • Computer Science background is a strong plus.

 

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience in digital advertising products

  • Experience in delivering a flexible & scalable platform to business users

  • Knowledge of digital advertising business models with focus on DSP, self-serve tools, targeting, attribution and optimization challenges.

  • Experience in social media and other channels such as video / mobile is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and data manipulation. SQL knowledge a strong plus.

  • Structured thinker, able to harness chaos into a logical architecture.

  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.

  • High degree of creativity, self-motivation, and drive.

  • Eagerness to work in a start-up team environment that will be rapidly changing.

  • Ability to manage projects with engineering, operations and analytics teams. Agile experience is a big plus.
