Summary

The CG/3D/Media Generalist is a diverse multitasker who can work in a variety of areas such as 3D modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, rendering, real time simulation, VR, video editing, and video and audio FX. This multidiscipline individual is experienced in all phases of production. The perfect candidate, given enough time, could complete an entire project by themselves, relying only on their own talents.

Essential Job Functions

  • Asset Creation – modeling, texturing, shader development, lighting and look dev to support multiple high-end 3D Animation short films and videos.
  • Creation of scenes and environments including lighting and atmospheric effects to be composited
  • 3D animation of assets and simple characters (Maya)
  • Compositing of layered elements, including live action plates with CG elements (After Effects/Nuke)
  • Motion graphics creation for marketing and presentation videos
  • Video editing (Premiere or Final Cut Pro)
  • Creation of animatic videos during pre-production and production cycles to support multiple media projects
  • Creation of 3D previs videos
  • Rendering elements for compositing with V-Ray for MAYA
  • Work closely with Director to meet all budget, schedule and quality goals

Key Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of MAYA
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and Adobe products used in production
  • Knowledge of 3DSMAX, Unreal Engine or other 3D production software and terminology
  • Experience with V-Ray or similar rendering pipeline in production environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong time and resource management skills

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, art, computer graphics, 3D or gaming or related field (or equivalent in job experience producing high-end CG films)
  • 5-8+ years experience in CG production for film/broadcast/themed entertainment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the themed entertainment industry a plus
  • Experience in working on a media based attraction or ride a huge plus
  • Experience working on confidential projects for extended periods of time
  • Experience with stereoscopic CG production
  • Experience with green screen shoots and compositing requirements
  • Experience with a production tacking system (FTrack, Shotgun)
  • Experience working with Sketchup in multi 3D software environment
  • Knowledge of Special Effects, Particles, Krakatoa, a plus
  • Knowledge of Substance Designer/Painter or other 3D Painting tool a plus
  • Knowledge of character animation, rigging and blend shapes a plus
  • Knowledge and demonstrable skills in VR/ 360 Videos and Unreal Engine a huge plus

Travel/Availability

  • Travel up to 10% is required for this position
  • Travel could be off-site, out of state, or international
  • A valid passport is required for this position

Physical Requirements

Employee will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Will also be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and operate office machinery. Must be able to lift up to thirty pounds.  Travel outside the office, and the United States is possible.
