Paralegal
Legal | Washington, D.C. | Full Time | From $60,000 to $68,000 per year

This is an integral role that works actively with experienced government attorneys to further the agency's mission. Location: Onsite in Washington DC

JOB DUTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Work closely with lawyers, staff, and stakeholders to screen files for completeness, proper jurisdiction, and other elements
- Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff
- Assist attorneys and investigators in preparing for hearings, legal discussions briefings, and meetings on various legal matters
- Conduct and assist in factual and legal research for each investigation
- Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and legal briefs
- Schedule interviews, hearings, witnesses, depositions, and other related discussions
- Investigate claims or potential cases. Review facts and interview witnesses
- Docket new appeals in the electronic case filing system and/or e-filing system
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS & SELECTION CRITERIA
- Must be willing to commute to the DC office as required
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 1-2 years of relevant paralegal experience
- Ability to conduct factual and legal research
- Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices and Procedures
- Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe PDF
- Experience with Case Management Software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
