IT Technician

Technical Operations | Palo Alto, CA | Full Time

Job Description

We’re looking for an IT Technician to join the growing Instart team. As our IT Technician, you will handle the day-to-day IT operations, from hardware setups to account troubleshooting, and provide best-in-class client-side support. You have hands-on experience across a wide IT scope including PC and Mac hardware, software applications, and OS support experience including installation, configuration and troubleshooting. You are customer focused and motivated by team success. In this role, you will adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while dealing with a high volume of requests and ambiguity. To succeed, you must be able to demonstrate strong initiative, learn quickly, be flexible, and demonstrate the ability to maintain high levels of productivity with minimal supervision. 

Responsibilities:

  • Help resolve issues in all facets of IT (i.e. computers, audio/video, and communications systems)

  • Manage Mac endpoints and deploy scripts, configuration profiles and software

  • Create clear and concise end-user documentation for common issues

  • Assist with software and hardware purchasing

  • Provide an exceptional level of support through a high degree of flexibility and contextual understanding

  • Keep current with the latest technologies and best practices with regards to IT support and ops

  • Continue to build and maintain trust between the IT org and all other teams/orgs

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience providing in-office hands-on IT support

  • Experience in supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux operating systems

  • A natural ability to make complex technologies feel simple

  • Comfort developing, documenting and communicating support-focused processes in collaboration with other teams

  • Experience with SaaS apps, including G Suite, Okta, Zoom, Slack and other similar systems, as well as with training and supporting employees on their use

  • Experience utilizing a ticketing system, particularly Jira

  • Experience with software and hardware purchasing, and inventory management

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to independently prioritize responsibilities while meeting deadlines

  • Outstanding and effective interpersonal and communication skills
