Job Description
Registered Nurse - Oncology
Work Location: Dallas, TX

InGenesis is currently seeking a compassionate RN to provide a full range of nursing care to cancer patients at a local university hospital. In this role, you will provide patient education, procedural instructions, general health information, and reinforce physician instructions (in person and through telephone contact).

Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
• Perform full range of nursing duties.
• Facilitate patient-physician communication and assist patient through the treatment process.
• Demonstrate knowledge of central line, port, and IV management.
• Administer chemotherapy and blood products in the infusion area.
• Complete billing of all nursing procedures including any infusion therapy.
• Document patient care interventions and education in medical records.
• Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures via on-line computer system or telephone.
• Provide care to patients undergoing complex procedures such as bone marrow biopsies or intrathecal chemotherapy.
• Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Associates degree, required.
• Experience: 2+ years’ experience in nursing.
• Licensure: Registered Nurse license as issued by the State of Texas.
• Current BLS certification, course accredited by the AHA.
• Within 24 months of employment, Certification required in one of the clinical areas offered by the Oncology Nursing certification Corporation (ONCC).

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred.
• Oncology experience, preferred.
