DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and instructs other members of staff in X-ray examinations of head, trunk, and extremities for routine physical examinations and for diagnosis of illness or injuries of accident victims. Reads x-ray sufficiently to ensure that films are artifact free, correctly developed and are the best films that can be taken. Responsible for logging in all x-rays performed by the incumbent. Maintains an up to date quality control system on the x-ray machines and processor. Schedules patients for examinations. Advises radiologist or referring physician of results of examination and provides them with a preliminary diagnostic evaluation. Performs clerical work in support of the care and treatment given to patients upon intake and throughout detention. Performs all other duties required by the Statement of Work (SOW).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Graduate from a radiologic technologist program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on education in Radiation Technology (JCERT)
- Posess current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART)
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification – preferred
