Under moderate supervision, serves at a centralized location facilitating and coordinating telephone communication through the hospital and clinic facilities by processing incoming, outgoing, and inter-department telephone and paging traffic.
High school graduation or GED
Minimum typing/keyboarding speed of 35 wpm, required
One-year customer service experience, required
One-year clerical/administrative experience, preferred
Experience in healthcare environment, preferred
Proficiency in one of more language addition to English, preferred
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and active listening skills.
Requires adaptability/flexibility to react positively to changes in the work environment, ability to plan and organize work in a logical, efficient manner, and ability to multitask, i.e. talk and type simultaneously, handle multiple telephone lines with minimal gaps between calls.
