POSITION SUMMARY

Under moderate supervision, serves at a centralized location facilitating and coordinating telephone communication through the hospital and clinic facilities by processing incoming, outgoing, and inter-department telephone and paging traffic.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation or GED

  • Minimum typing/keyboarding speed of 35 wpm, required

  • One-year customer service experience, required

  • One-year clerical/administrative experience, preferred

  • Experience in healthcare environment, preferred

  • Proficiency in one of more language addition to English, preferred

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and active listening skills.

  • Requires adaptability/flexibility to react positively to changes in the work environment, ability to plan and organize work in a logical, efficient manner, and ability to multitask, i.e. talk and type simultaneously, handle multiple telephone lines with minimal gaps between calls.
