Direct Service Professionals (CNA)

A successful and established Texas based Workforce Solutions Company is accepting application(s) for Direct Service Professionals (Nursing Aide) to provide services to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.  The position offers a great opportunity for someone entering the nursing field to enhance or gain valuable work experience within the state employment system. Full time DSP positions will be 5 days a week with some required weekends. State Centers are Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with an intellectual or physical injury or illness, dysfunction behavior and/or developmental disability.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) 

  • Successful completion of the CNA or DHS Aide Trainee Program OR
  • Two+ years of paid experience performing direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with a developmental disability
  • Basic Life Support-American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider Certification (will provide recertification if needed)
  • Successful Completion of Facility Orientation and Mandated Training (up to 3 days of training)
  • Must have current tuberculous screening test (TB test)
  • BLS card preferred
  • Must have complete criminal background check  
  • Must have high school diploma or GED

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Carries out daily routine of the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
  • Assists, guides, and encourages Individuals with daily needs
  • Provides daily routine physical care to Individuals
  • Lifts, positions, and transfers ambulatory and non-ambulatory Individuals with assistance of other employees and assistive devices as stated in each Centers lifting and transfer policy
  • Assists/transports people that use non-motorized wheelchairs, lifts, litters or other assistive devices to be ambulatory
  • Observes and reports Individuals’ behavior
  • Escorts Individuals to various activities, both on and off campus
  • Perform CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and other emergency procedures / evacuations
  • Participates in housekeeping functions
  • Understands / interprets oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to alternate weekends

 

*Hiring for 2nd shift 3pm – 11:30pm, and 3rd shift 11:15pm – 7:30am (your choice)

*3 days of training provided; 8am – 4:30pm for first 3 days
