Medical Administrative Assistant

InGenesis is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to support the Federal Occupational Health (FOH) in Bethesda, MD.  The position has full-time hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Medical assistant certification, preferably with one year experience in clinical service or account management service.
  • Experience in the providing occupational health is a desirable. 
  • One (1) year experience in support of clinical management, preferably in occupational health (OH), and experience in dealing effectively with various size organizations representing widely divergent backgrounds, points of view, and levels of authority (i.e., labor union and management issues relating to OH) are preferred. 
  • In addition must demonstrate on resume, through experience: leadership, communication, and organizational skills along with the ability to problem solve. 
  • Proficient skills in utilizing medical terminology, proper phone etiquette, using electronic health records, MS Office EXCEL and WORD, are also required. 
  • Excellent organizational skills to include attention to detail, ability to track processes using databases, and follow-through as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously are required. 
  • Able to work independently on projects and requires minimal oversight by team lead or supervisor.

 

Specific Tasks:  Primary duties and competencies include but are not limited to:

  • Duties and competencies include, but are not limited to demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Occupational Health’s mission, vision and values.
  • Demonstrating knowledge customer service philosophy and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the breadth and range of occupational health services offered by the Federal Occupational Health. 
  • Major responsibilities include tracking data that ensures efficient means to monitor quality and timeliness of services delivered and continuous updating and maintenance of established interagency agreement documents including Work Orders.
  • May be responsible for:  activity fulfillment or timely review of service provider fulfillment to ensure accurate and timely billing into the Federal Occupational Health’s system(s); extensively interacting with customers regarding billing questions; coordination with customers and PSC to resolve uncollected charges and obtain funding for current services; clarification of services or, other communication essential to the maintenance of the agreement; and, coordinating service delivery, under certain circumstances , with PSC Service Delivery Leads.
  • Prior to physician performing medical case review, perform Quality Assurance (QA) on medical records to ensure that all services have been performed according to agency medical requirements, the scope of work, and the IAA. 
  • Provides assistance in generating customer specific reports that capture utilization and activity under designated agreements. 
  • Scheduling services for client agencies as requested.
