Job Summary
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides compassionate, hands-on personal care and supportive services to patients in their homes. This role supports patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting comfort, dignity, safety, and independence under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene
- Provide mobility assistance, including transfers, ambulation, and repositioning
- Support daily activities such as meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping related to patient care
- Monitor and report changes in the patient’s physical condition, behavior, or environment to the supervising nurse or agency
- Take and record vital signs as directed
- Assist with prescribed exercises and range-of-motion activities
- Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy home environment for the patient
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Follow care plans, infection control protocols, and all agency policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program
- Current Home Health Aide certification or registry status (as required by state regulations)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Previous caregiving or healthcare experience required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in patient homes
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, standing, walking, and assisting with mobility
- Flexible scheduling, including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays
