Event Coordinator
Work Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary/Description
Coordinates the continuing education programs and meetings. Impacts institutional continuing education programs and special events. Meets with client to evaluate meeting requirements. Enters into scheduling system all meeting requirements, including set-ups, audiovisual and special requests. Prepares and distributes daily set-ups schedule for meeting room coordinators. Monitors and maintains the operational standards of all conference rooms and meeting areas. Ensures rooms are set up to meet client expectations. Coordinates delivery and set-ups of outside companies, as well as daily catering schedules. Coordinates meetings logistics. Prepares a monthly maintenance report. Secures all meeting rooms and furniture when not in use. Provides audiovisual support as needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
• Must be physically able to assist with unpacking and merchandising product at Pop Up Shops and Nutcracker Market events includes lifting and moving boxes and crates.
• Must be physically able to assist with the tear down and pack-up of Pop Up Shops and Nutcracker Market events includes lifting and moving boxes and crates.
• Articulate the mission of MD Anderson Cancer Center and The Children’s Art project to customers.
• Capable of lifting 25 lbs. Standing 100%. Bending 100%.
• Assisting with customers shopping needs when needed at Children’s Art Project events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management or related field preferred
• Two years of experience in event planning, business or closely related field required
