Work Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary/Description
Have an immediate opening for a Dental Assistant to come and join our client located in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be performing routine tasks assisting the professional dental staff and students in the examination and prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical treatment of patients. Responsible for providing chair side assistance to students and faculty within the program. Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
• Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
• Provides chair side assistance to students and faculty.
• Maintains sterile, and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
• Maintains infection control standards.
• Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Dental Assistant Registration by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
• Completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program
• Basic Office or computer skills
• Three (3) months dental assisting experience or in lieu of experience, completion of a recognized dental assisting program of comparable length
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
