Research Medical Assistant

 

Job Type:                     Temporary Staffing

Assignment Dates:      

Work Hours/Days:     Variable Schedule, Mon-Fri 3:00PM-8:00PM and some Saturdays

Work Sites:                 Institute of Health Promotion Research – San Antonio, TX;

Community Resource Centers located in Pearsall, TX, Frio County

 

Specific Duties:

  • Follows study protocol as defined by the Principal Investigator,Program Director or Research Staff
  • Administers surveys and conducts other assessments to study participants in a community setting
  • With general oversight from the Principal Investigator, works closely with and reports to the Research Coordinators to implement study protocol
  • Record participant measurements and organize and maintain study participants records
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Able and willing to travel to various community settings
  • Strong skills in written and oral communication

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • CITI – Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Certified Medical Assistant (to be provided by research team)

Qualifications:

  • 18+ years old with valid Texas Drivers license
  • At least one year of experience as a health navigator,peer support worker,outreach work, or promotora or working in a community setting and providing health education
  • Computer Programs: Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Computer Experience: Intermediate level
  • Current immunizations including annual Flu Shot, annual TB Skin Test (PPD), MMR, Varicella-zoster, TDAP, Hep B Series
