Clinical Dietitian
Work Location: Norristown, PA

Job Summary/Description
The clinical dietician will promote nutrition in a state hospital setting, working under under the direction of the Director of Dietetic Services in the Food Service Department by performing professional, clinical, and nutritional duties. Work hours will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. (37.5 cumulative per week), but there may be occasions when service may be required other than during these hours.

Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
• Organizes a complete program of nutritional care for the Individuals who reside at Norristown State Hospital. This program includes Nutritional Assessments, Monthly and Quarterly Reviews, Dietary Supplemental Procedures, Summaries for Discharge and Transfer, Diet Counseling, Chart Entries, team participation and nutrition education programs to ensure that all accrediting agencies find compliance with their standards.
• Responsible for the nutritional care of the Individuals who reside at the Hospital. Attends and participates in intra-departmental meetings, including Individual Support Plan meetings to ensure that appropriate nutritional recommendations are made.
• Coordinates the nutritional and consistency needs of the Individuals with the Director of Dietetic Services to ensure the acceptability of menu items.
• Assists in the preparation of modified diet menus in accordance with the ADA Manual of Clinical Dietetics. Ensures that these menus are accurately followed by spot checking the preparation, service and distribution of the food to the Individuals.
• Conducts quality assurance studies weekly from the tray line or an individual's tray.
• Assesses needs for snacks, condiments, nourishments, juice and other supplies for the living areas. Coordinates and updates procedures used by the Nourishment Room staff.
• Presents in-service training for Food Service staff and other facility personnel as assigned by the Director of Dietetic Services.
• Performs all other related duties to ensure that individuals' nutritional needs are met in an as-normal-as possible atmosphere.
• The Clinical Registered Dietitian will comply with all Hospital policies and procedures and will participate with all required training such as Fire Safety, Infection Control, Patient Rights and Crisis Prevention Training, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Registered Dietitian
