Our Software Engineers design, build, test, deploy, and enhance the technology that supports ImageTrend’s products and customers. They contribute to features, APIs, services, data solutions, and user experiences while partnering across Engineering, Product, Quality, UX, and other teams to deliver reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Successful Software Engineers combine strong technical fundamentals with curiosity, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset. They leverage AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle, critically reviewing and validating AI-assisted output before use, while exploring opportunities to incorporate AI engineering, automation, and emerging technologies into our products and development practices.

What You'll Do:

• Use AI-enabled development tools alongside strong engineering practices to build production-ready software, partnering with Product, UX, and engineering peers to rapidly turn ideas into scalable solutions with appropriate validation and verification built into the development process

• Apply your technical expertise to challenge and refine solutions, combining research, engineering judgment, and AI-assisted development to deliver solutions aligned with technical requirements and business goals

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Quality, UX, and other cross-functional partners throughout the software development lifecycle

• Apply sound software engineering principles related to architecture, coding standards, automated testing, security, performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability

• Critically evaluate AI-generated and human-authored code rather than accepting generated output at face value, using engineering judgment, code review, automated testing, and other verification methods to identify risks and ensure solutions meet defined requirements and engineering standards

• Use modern development practices and technologies, including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and production monitoring and troubleshooting

• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and engineering approaches that can improve product capabilities, engineering efficiency, developer productivity, and customer experiences

• Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and overall quality

• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering standards across teams

• Depending on experience and level, contribute to solution design, technical direction, mentoring, architectural decisions, and complex cross-team initiatives

• Travel to orientation, industry or company events, or other onsite meetings as required

• Perform additional duties or tasks as assigned

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Demonstrated software engineering experience building solutions, including practical experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent development tools, preferably within a SaaS or technology organization; experience in public safety, healthcare, or GovTech is considered a plus
• Working proficiency with C#/.NET, SQL/SQL Server, TypeScript, React or Angular, Python, or comparable modern languages, frameworks, and technologies, with depth of experience varying based on the level of the role
• Demonstrated ability to use AI effectively across coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and software design activities, while exercising human judgment and validating AI-assisted outputs before use
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and understand common limitations of generative AI, including incorrect assumptions, fabricated or nonexistent APIs, insecure implementations, and insufficient domain context
• Ability to structure engineering work so AI-assisted and AI-generated outputs can be independently verified against defined requirements and standards for security, performance, scalability, reliability, and quality
• Experience with APIs, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and production troubleshooting
• Understanding of software architecture, application design, security, performance, scalability, reliability, testing, and maintainability principles
• Strong problem-solving, time management, attention to detail, communication, and technical aptitude
• Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical, scalable solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners
• Demonstrated continuous improvement and growth mindset, with the ability to learn and apply emerging technologies while balancing innovation with sound engineering judgment
• Ability to maintain discretion when handling proprietary and confidential information
• Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, collaboration, and team orientation
• Ability to travel as required, up to 10%

Position Salary Range: The annual base salary range for this full-time role is $70,000- $160,000 USD + bonus + benefits + perks + community gains. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, education or training and other relevant qualifications.
