Job Description

This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of a liquid propulsion system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. The primary responsibility of this position is to model the Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system that controls the orientation of an RL10 rocket engine in flight. Modeling covers both the electrical and mechanical facets of the system. Other tasking can include conducting TVC analyses, verifying TVC requirements, supporting testing, coordinating with component suppliers and the NASA customer, and resolving issues that arise. The candidate will work with other TVC engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics
  • Minimum one year of experience with rocket systems development
  • Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
  • U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with rocket engine TVC modeling, design, integration, and testing

Experience with modeling tools, such as MATLAB and Simulink

Knowledge of the physics of rocket propulsion

Experience with the systems engineering and integration process, from requirements development through product deployment.

Active DoD secret clearance
