Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this position are leading a team performing systems engineering lifecycle on a new product development for space & missile applications. The lead systems engineer will perform technical planning and execution of verification and validation; oversee requirements management; execute trade studies and risk analysis; manage engineering change processes; and show traceability to technical and mission assurance requirements. This position is also responsible for using tools to identify different program requirements, tracking performance metrics, and managing the systems engineering process.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field;
• 15+ years of experience related to the design, test, and verification of unit(s) and subsystems to end-use customers;
• 10+ years of experience executing the systems engineering lifecycle across the Systems Engineering Vee;
• Proficient in organizing, providing bi-directional traceability, for requirements and objective evidence for requirements;
• Experience with directly interfacing with technical customer representatives;
• Active Secret Clearance;
• Must be a US citizen.

Desired Qualifications

• Master of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field:
• Experience with optical systems, EO/IR instruments, sensors and payloads, OR high energy lasers & directed energy systems for space-based or missile EO products;
• Experience in design & development programs as related to Systems Engineering tasks;
• Experience with technical writing and team building skills;
• Experience working with design/analysis/test software including Matlab, Code V, Zemax, Python, Solidworks, LabView, or FRED
• 5+ years in leading a team;
• Ability to effectively and clearly present technical issues and findings, and recommending a course of action.
