Description:

The IT Network Engineer and Lab Support candidate will be part of the Cyber and Platforms (CAP) information technology team on the Command and Control Battle Management Communications (C2BMC) program, and assist senior system administrators and government network subject matter experts with managing and sustaining network components supporting associated support networks.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education;

· 5 plus years of professional experience. Considered career, or journey, level. Considered experienced but still a learner. Will also consider new college grads with appropriate degree and clearance.

· Candidate must meet minimum DOD 8570 IAT II certification requirements with any of the following certifications (Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP);

· Candidate must possess experience and knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing. Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting;

· Must have basic knowledge of network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls;

· Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis, and troubleshooting experience;

· Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools;

· Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers;

· Familiarity with network communication products, including routers, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS), and data encryption products;

· Active DOD Secret Clearance, and US Citizen required.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Prior knowledge and experience of the C2BMC networks or organization;

· Candidate has knowledge, skill sets, or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark);

· Experience in Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager, Solarwinds, and NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp or Gigastore);

· Certifications in the industry vendor Juniper or Cisco are a plus.
