Job Description

This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of the instrumentation system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. This position supports the development and integration of onboard sensors, such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and accelerometers. Responsibilities can include supporting sensor testing, conducting sensor system analyses, analyzing test and vendor data, verifying requirements, coordinating with sensor vendors and the NASA customer, writing reports, manipulating a sensor database using software tools, and resolving issues. The candidate will work with other instrumentation engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum one year of experience with aerospace avionics, such as sensors that measure rocket environments
  • Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with sensors that measure rocket flight conditions, such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and accelerometers.
  • Experience with software coding and database manipulation.
  • Experience with the systems engineering and integration process, from requirements development through product deployment.
  • Active DoD secret clearance
