Description: This Systems Engineer will be a member of the C2BMC National Team, working with a multi-contractor team to develop and execute a comprehensive assessment program supporting a capability-based acquisition of the C2BMC Element of the BMDS.
Key Responsibilities:
· Completing use case development and preparing systems engineering artifacts to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities.
· Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
· Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
· Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis.
· Work with teams crossing multiple functions in order to drive data connectivity from architecture to requirements to test. Within this capacity, a successful candidate will work to understand the data stream, construct an engineering pipeline, establish a rhythm of maintenance, and provide support for tool development and tool troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of increasingly responsible Systems Engineering roles in the development, integration, and support of large-scale software-intensive systems;
· Masters degree and 7+ years of experience may be substituted;
· At least 9 years of experience in relevant DoD interface, assessment, test methodologies and terminologies, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) elements or components;
· Active Secret clearance, and must be US Citizen;
· Must have experience participating in requirements development and capability assessments of the C2BMC or equivalent BMDS elements;
· Experience must include specific roles on a program with respect to use case development, interface document creation and definition, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition through a structured and logical approach;
· Demonstrated ability to analyze high-level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements. Must be able to lead efforts associated with the development of objectives and requirements for capability assessments and have prior experience writing assessment plans;
· Expert experience in all MS Office applications and familiarity with DOORS.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program;
· Experience with/knowledge of MBSE or model-based engineering desired;
· Should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications (C2BMC) system;
· Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in the development of use cases, sequence diagrams, and creation of Interface Documents;
· Experience in missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques, including verification of requirements;
· Experience in requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components;
· Skills-generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities;
· Experience in developing capability assessments, assessment objectives, and related assessment plans and procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
· Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definitions;
· Experience with Agile Methodologies.
