POSITION PURPOSE

IDP is seeking passionate and capable Technical Analysts to join our exciting AWS capability.  We want you to bring your deep experience of Analysis in a DevOps environment, Domain Driven Design knowledge and productive energy to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers. 

As a Technical Analyst you’ll be a critical member of our DevOps team.  The clearly articulated requirements and designs you produce will be foundational in the quality and velocity of our mission-critical delivery. 

You’ll be part of a high-performing cross-functional squad set up to succeed by autonomously delivering beautiful technical outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Deliver the Requirements lifecycle 

  • Managing multiple stakeholders and eliciting the concise definition of the need and the critical success factors that will be used to judge the success of the feature. 

  • Work with the Product Owners, Architects and business to understand the use cases 

  • Create epics to manage scope and prioritize.  

  • Break down the high-level design or epic into smaller chunks of work with the delivery teams 

  • Incorporate security, privacy and Non-Functional Requirements as part of the use cases being delivered 

  • Create Detailed User Stories. 

  • Work with your QA colleagues to create functional and regression testing plan – and push these into our test automation framework 

  • Take lead in planning the quarter during Program increments to map the EPIC's and user stories to sprint's.   Identification and management of risks and interdependencies with other teams 

  • Engage relevant stakeholders to work out operational readiness and value realization strategy 

Use DDD to accelerate the velocity of IDP’s innovation 

  • Taking Solution Designs and Architectural Patterns build out designs ready for developers to deliver at pace. 

  • Work with Product Owners to gather requirements using Event Storms and other requirement gathering techniques aligned to IDP’s SAFEagile methodology. 

  • Ensure the pipeline of groomed stories enables the developers to operate at full capacity.  You are providing the fuel for the delivery engine. 

Groom Solution Designs 

  • You will drive the method of working in smaller chunks to be more agile and deploy continuously.   

  • You will work with Product Owners to prioritize the requirements based on those with the highest value. 

  • Develop Microservice Designs ready for development 

  • Decompose Epics into Jira Stories and Specifications  

Focus on Business Value from our Tech 

  • Understand the value of each requirement and play an active role in prioritization discussions where necessary. 

  • Co-ordinate and/or develop deployment deliverables (communications, training, etc..) 

  • Bridge the gap between the development, design, product management teams and support 

  • Collaborate with Test Automation engineers and developers to automate the testing of requirements 

DevOps 

  • You’ll work closely with other team members to continuously improve the suitability of your deliverables to maximize the velocity and quality of the CI/CD pipeline. 

Continuously Learn 

  • Build your Domain expertise in Student Placement processes, tech and data 

  • Develop and maintain your understanding of the potentials of the IDP technology stack and industry trends.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 

  • Experience in analyzing requirements for Integrations (including PubSub) and/or Microservices 

  • Experience in Domain Driven Design (DDD) in a software development environment would be a huge advantage

  • Experience of having worked in Agile Methodologies, (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).  Used agile tools like JIRA, VersionOne etc. for Agile project management. 

  • You must be a critical thinker.  You’ll be logical and driven by data and analysis.  While you are very skilled at breaking down high-level use cases into individual stories you are able to maintain a holistic view and ensure that the overall objective of the deliverable will be achieved. 

  • Good understanding of the use of an Event Driven Architecture to drive business value. 

  • An intense understanding of Data and how to analyze and design for it. 

  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.  You will produce unambiguous requirements that are directly aligned to the business need.   

  • You’ll have the presence to run a workshop and guide diverse groups through a design session. 

  • A natural mentor.  You’ll have the skills and aptitude to bring others along in the continuous learning journey.
