Senior Data Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE 

To provide an effective and efficient analytics and reporting services across IDP Systems and data repositories, working closely with various IDP Teams and Departments, and third parties to resolve incidents and fulfil service requests pertaining, analytics, data and reporting. 

This role is part of the Information Services Team within the Business and Technology Services and Support group and will report to Lead Data Scientist. 

The key responsibilities and deliverables of this role are: 

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports 

  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality 

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems 

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 

  • Ensuring high-integrity of data is maintained across IDP systems / tools, with adherence and alignment to IDP policies and procedures. 

  • Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, scorecards and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems 

  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs 

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities 

  • Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. 

  • Train and advise data analysts and be accountable for successful delivery of data service support.  

 

Essential requirements (skills, knowledge experience & qualification): 

  • An undergraduate degree from a recognized college or university 

  • Minimum of 5 Years of experience working on business data analysis and data management 

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with MS Excel, reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc) 

  • Experience in creating analytical reports 

  • Understanding of relational database concepts and of any querying language will be advantageous. 

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Strong and fluent communication skills in English (verbal and written) 

  • The ability to both take direction and also work independently in a fast paced environment 

  • Strong time management and the ability to manage shifting priorities 

  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. 

  • Exhibit a proactive approach to quickly identify problems and implement solutions. 

  • Experienced working under pressure and organising work priorities 

Desirable requirements (leadership & team/project capabilities): 

  • Possesses good knowledge of different software systems including cloud, SaaS and client/server 

  • Exposure to SAP Hybris, C4C, Hybris Marketing, Success Factors is advantageous 

  • Exposure to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise 

  • Knowledge and experience in effectively working with the ITIL framework 

  • Experienced in Agile methodology
