POSITION PURPOSE

Finance Officer will be responsible for reporting, financial analysis, payments and tax reviews and month end close process for IDP Indonesia.

The role will also be tasked with involvement in process improvement.

The role works closely with Finance Manager (FM), IELTS team, Office Managers and Finance Shared Services (FSS) to fulfil duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Operations

Ownership of the Indonesia office month end close process

  • As key point of contact and coordinating with FSS for month-end process
  • Calculating appropriate revenue and expense accruals and making adjusting entries where required and communicating to shared services for data entry.
  • Recommend accounting operations process improvement opportunities to FSS and Finance Manager and implement agreed actions.
  • Significant interaction and ability to solve issues collaboratively with shared services (India) or other global colleagues (SEA or Australia)
  • Supporting Indonesia Office Payments/Accounts Payable (AP) process conducted by finance team as required.

Ownership of bank payment process:

  • Check daily bank balance to ensure enough fund for office operations.
  • Ensure all payment summaries are correct and to be paid on time.
  • Provide payment details to bank payment authorizers for approval in HSBCnet.
  • Liaise with HSBC on all banking transactions including dealing foreign exchange rate and maintain good relationship.
  • Lifecycle asset control – supporting business cases to purchase, ensuring purchase deals are commercially sound and compliant to IDP policy, assets received, tagged, entered to Oracle register and regularly counted and staff follow policies to protect company assets
  • Documentation of IDP Indonesia accounting operations processes, compile clear and effective process notes and diagrams to ensure knowledge retention and close co-operation and knowledge sharing with other SEA finance teams
  • Support Finance Manager to review Indonesia operations SP revenue trends and billing activity. Working closely with multiple internal departments to resolve billing or revenue issues
  • Support Indonesia operations IELTS activity by reviewing proposed agent contracts for commercial considerations and ensuring agent commissions are appropriately released in accordance with contract conditions
  • Key Support to FM for IDP Indonesia financial audit, financial statements preparation and submission process working with third party auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders
  • Review all local Indonesia office tax matters including but not limited to VAT, withholding tax, annual tax returns, employee yearly tax submissions are completed on time - working closely with tax consultant and PX.
  • Support Finance Manager / Global IDP Tax with more complex tax issues, preparation of Corporate Income Tax.

Compliance

  • Prepare reports of LKPM, Central Bank, Tax Office and other liaison/submissions with appropriate government departments. Working with relevant internal IDP teams as required.
  • Review tax reconciliation to ensure no late payments or filing.
  • Support Finance Manager during audit process in providing data and responding to queries.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Become OBI superuser (extracting financial and non-financial data from OBI) to support analysis. As a superuser, collaborate and support Indonesia team and at times wider SEA colleagues with data needs or advice.
  • Assist local management with financial analysis (pipeline to APF, credit notes, staff expenses reviews, etc) and business presentations
  • Support cross function process improvement projects for Indonesia, SEA region or global finance
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the Country Director or Finance Manager

Other Duties

  • Adhoc work, support FM in retrieving and collecting data for certain reports or queries from Country Director, Regional or HO. In preparing the data may need to liaise with other departments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; with experience in audit and tax
  • Have experience more than 3 Years.
  • Consistent performer with a minimal error rate and the ability to operate proactively with minimal supervision;
  • Customer service attitude and an excellent team player – willing to support others to achieve wider team and company goals;
  • Strong English communication (verbal and written) skills to interact effectively with global colleagues;
  • Very high resilience and Adaptability to change / and work in a constantly changing environment
  • Able to overcome challenges to perform effectively
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
