POSITION PURPOSE

Finance Officer is responsible for performing important operational accounting tasks for the IDP Philippines business. The role works closely with the Senior Finance Officer, Philippines operational colleagues and global shared services to fulfill duties

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform accounts payable - ensuring documentation approvals, vendor payment, reconciling supplier statements

Manage expense reimbursement process – ensure compliance to company policy

Retain vendor contracts and check that vendor payments are aligned to contracts

Actively provides meaningful contribution to P2P project to process improve AP and expense reimbursement processes

Assist with petty cash control and reconciliation – check and retain supporting documents and approvals.

Prepare manual invoices to bill clients, working with global IDP colleagues

Assist with Banking of cash collected, monitor/control receipt issue with admin and IELTS teams.

Timely and complete scanning of accounting operations documents (invoices, vouchers, approvals) to global shared services accounting team

Continually review tasks and seek to maximise efficiency of process by highlighting opportunities to improve with finance manager and implementing agreed improvements – work with colleagues in implement electronic processes

Act as a backup for other accounting operations processes

With senior finance officer, effectively document accounting operations processes

Prepare monthly tax including WHT, VAT submissions and liaise with revenue department contacts for routine matters

Interest in developing financial analysis skills working with senior finance officer reviewing revenue and expense trends

Assist in the group accounts and local Philippines accounts close off at month end / year end – calculating accurate accruals, and general ledger entries

Assist senior finance office and finance manager ensure accuracy and completeness of group accounts compared to local Philippines accounts by performing reconciliations and other analysis

Undertaking any other duties as directed by the Senior Finance Officer

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent and post-graduate certifications in Finance / Accounting preferred.

  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Embraces change and process improvement with positive attitude
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Very good English Skills.
  • Ability to use Excel effectively and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Oracle systems.
  • Some compliance knowledge especially tax and legal an advantage
