This position will provide first level hardware and software support to all network, local and remote users.  Will provide network administration for our company and supported subsidiaries, and work with the entire IT group to maintain a stable, secure and productive information systems environment.  Successful candidates will have a minimum 3 years of experience and a working understanding of networks.  Knowledgeable of Palo Alto and Cisco IP networking, routing protocols, Firewall, IPSec VPN and layer 2 switching is a must. Good understanding of IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems) is a plus.

Position requires oversight of organizational responsibilities to meet or exceed business objectives and SLA's.  In addition to networking, the position may require troubleshooting of hardware, software, peripherals, connectivity and security policy issues as required.  Position also requires an individual to work with other IT groups as well as user groups to meet or exceed company objectives.


  • Support current environment with a core infrastructure of firewalls, routers and switches
  • Capacity planning and forecast network growth to meet business needs
  • Monitor networks within organizational assignments and provide reports on a regular basis
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to other groups outside of Network Services
  • Add new firewall policies as required
  • Ability to carry heavy equipment and rack them as necessary
  • Ability to be on call 24/7


  • 3+ years relevant experience required 
  • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience 
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls
  • Ability to implement, troubleshoot and maintain networks
  • Ability to implement and recommend relevant security protocols
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto and Cisco required; experience with Brocade and Aruba is a plus
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.  Must be able to give and receive correct information, explain difficult information in layman's terms, and maintain a customer service attitude to all levels of users
  • Ability to work and manage time independently and creatively
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, deal confidently with highly complex technical problems
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of networks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and ability to follow instructions and guidance
  • Ability to anticipate problems, resolve ambiguity and take decisive action
  • Ability to provide accurate estimates of time frames to complete potential projects and meet milestones and project implementation plans
  • Active in pursuing learning opportunities
  • Good understanding of Active Directory concepts
  • Network certifications a plus
