Associate Director of Security & Operations

Overview:

IAC seeks an experienced Associate Director of Security & Operations to oversee strategic physical and digital security operations, including the Global Security Operations Center (SOC), crisis management, and staff supervision. The role involves managing vendor relationships for security systems to ensure timely installation and maintenance. Responsibilities also include leading security projects, overseeing event security, and ensuring compliance with fire life safety protocols.

This position will align physical and digital security measures with business needs, ensure the readiness of emergency communication systems, and develop strategies to achieve organizational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise a physical security team of 1 assistant manager and 12 security staff, ensuring compliance with security protocols, fire life safety procedures, and ongoing training.
  • Evaluate in-house security and guest operations staff, recommending assignments and career development paths.
  • Oversee 24/7 monitoring of global security incidents and threats, managing SOC staff, and ensuring rapid response and timely reporting to senior leadership.
  • Manage security for IAC’s event venue - conduct pre-event risk assessments, ensuring both security and fire life safety measures are adequate for corporate events and coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure event safety and compliance with fire life safety standards.
  • Manage outsourced security integrator relationships regarding service, preventative maintenance, hardware setup, and troubleshooting for digital AI, and physical security systems. Ensure timely vendor coordination, negotiation, and procurement for system installation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Lead security system projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and providing updates to Security leadership. Deliver subject matter expertise on security designs, and research emerging security technologies for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the technical maintenance of emergency mass communication systems to ensure integration with key platforms, and ensure readiness for emergency scenarios across the corporation, including during corporate events.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to assist in conducting company-wide access control audits and ensure physical security, digital security, and fire life safety protocols are aligned with organizational needs.
  • Manage supply chains, payroll, invoicing, and budget, optimizing resources for security, fire safety, and system maintenance.
  • Advise and act as the key point of contact to the VP of Global Security on operational security, personnel development, refinement of security procedures and SOP’s, updates on performance, system maintenance, and risk assessments while aligning with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present high-level security, fire life safety, and digital security briefings for senior leadership, with post-event reviews and recommendations.
  • Oversee safety programs and trainings, including fire and emergency action plan drills, building evacuation plans, and emergency procedures, ensuring adherence to local codes and regulations.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, conduct comprehensive threat assessments, and implement protective measures to mitigate risks, escalating issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution
  • Collaborate with leadership on crisis planning and response, conduct post-incident reviews, and develop mitigation strategies.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Security/Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, or related field, with at least 5 years of experience (combined public/private sector experience considered) in security operations with increasing scope, responsibility and complexity.
  • Advanced degree or physical security certifications (CPP, PSP, PCI) a plus.
  • Proven experience managing security system projects, security technology integrations, fire life safety systems, knowledge and experience in RFP/RFI process, including new vendor onboarding and vendor relationship management.
  • Foundational understanding of collection and analysis of security metrics and system audits to inform decisions and contribute to long-term strategy discussions, including conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning
  • Proven track record of strong cross functional relations, strong communication skills with the ability to and provide clear guidance to teams and present reports to senior leadership.
  • Outstanding technical, organizational and follow-through skills. Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills and able to respond quickly and effectively to any scenario.


Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000 USD

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of IAC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
